Mildred Benson Memorial Scholarship

The San Joaquin Valley Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is pleased to announce its acceptance of applications for the MILDRED BENSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP.

 

Two scholarships in the amount of $500.00 each will be awarded at the Annual Delta-N-Friends Banquet on June 21, 2008 at the Ramada Inn (Shaw @ Hwy 41). Applicants considered must be graduating from high school in May/June 2008 and a participant in the African American High School Recognition Program on Sunday, May 18, 2008.

 

The graduate must

• have a minimum GPA of 2.75 which must be verified by school transcripts submitted by the school registrar.
• submit an essay which gives a brief description of all high school achievements, post high school plans (to include declare college or university, major and career objectives), any scholarships received and the importance of giving back to the community.

The transcript and essay must be postmarked by May 31, 2008.
